First Paragraph Tuesday

Deity (Covenant #3) by Jennifer L. Armentrout
 9761778
FIRST PARAGRAPH: Red silk clung to my hips, twisting into a tight bodice that accentuated my curves. My hair was down, silky around my shoulders like the petals of an exotic flower. The lights in the ballroom caught each ripple in the fabric so that, with every step, I looked like I was blooming on fire.

I am about halfway down this third installment in the Covenant series and so far, so good. Great series and I encourage people that like feisty heroines and Greek gods to try it out. This is 3/5 in the covenant series not including two novellas along with it.

Swoon Worthy Saturday

Daemon Black from the Lux series by Jennifer L. Armentrout

If you like sarcastic and cocky you're looking at the king. All of my book boyfriends are dark and sexy and pretty much assholes until.. they fall in love. I know, it's all so cliche but it's my favorite. Daemon Black is a hot a alien in the Lux series. Dark and mysterious and just downright yummy. Jennifer Armentrout really knows how to make us girls swoon. If you've never read this interesting series you're probably thinking alien? In a YA book?Yes, sexy aliens are in here but definitely not the way you'd imagine an alien to look. If you haven't read it I so encourage you to try it and tell me you're thoughts!

Never Never Review

Never Never by Colleen Hoover and Tarryn Fisher
Rating:
Pages:140
Best friends since they could walk. In love since the age of fourteen. Complete strangers since this morning.
He'll do anything to remember. She'll do anything to forget.

My Thoughts:
Let me just say that I hate novellas, they're so short that I feel like there's not enough information.  But, as soon as I seen the synopsis for this upcoming novel I knew it would blow me away and it did not disappoint. Colleen Hover is my absolute favorite author and even though this novella didn't even come close to my love for the perfect novel Hopeless it definitely delivered as much as a novella can. Hoover wrote the boy and Fisher wrote the girl, which I think is a brilliant idea because it's a chance to give the characters a different personality, so bravo to that. Sadly, this review isn't going to be long because the reader must go into this book with as little knowledge as possible, it just makes the book all the better.
Now the absolute terrible thing is the cliffhanger at the end. OMG Hoover and Fisher better knock this second book off fast to answer all these questions! Because sadly this book ends with a load full of unanswered questions, leaving us with morbid curiosity. I've been trying to think of why and what and how and when and where and i have nothing! Can't wait for the second novella to answer some of my questions.
Would I Read Again? Probably not.
Would I Recommend It? Yes

Angelfall Review

Angelfall by Susan Ee
My Rating:
Pages: 283
It's been six weeks since angels of the apocalypse descended to demolish the modern world. Street gangs rule the day while fear and superstition rule the night. When warrior angels fly away with a helpless little girl, her seventeen-year-old sister Penryn will do anything to get her back.

Anything, including making a deal with an enemy angel.

Raffe is a warrior who lies broken and wingless on the street. After eons of fighting his own battles, he finds himself being rescued from a desperate situation by a half-starved teenage girl.

Traveling through a dark and twisted Northern California, they have only each other to rely on for survival. Together, they journey toward the angels' stronghold in San Francisco where she'll risk everything to rescue her sister and he'll put himself at the mercy of his greatest enemies for the chance to be made whole again.

My Thoughts:
This captivating tale kept me on my toes the entire time. Post-apocalypse, Penryn and her family are hardly surviving in the start of the story, just barely hanging on. With Penryn's mother being mentally unstable and her sister handicapped she is the sole caretaker. When one day a fight amongst the angels happens in front of them and their world twists upside down.. again. Penryn's sister is snatched from her hands leaving an injured angel as her only hope. She understandably despises the angel at first, he is among the kind who destroyed the world. But even considering that, I was hooked the minute the swoon worthy angel opened his mouth, sarcastic and cocky--my favorite

My absolute love for this book isn't just because of the debonair angel, Raffe. The heroine, Penryn, is also brilliant. The characters in the novel are just flawlessly written and the story line was very imaginative--if not a little bit on the creepy side. As Penryn and Raffe journey off to find her sister many situations face them on the way, making the book 100x better. Even the subordinate characters were fit to my liking and brilliantly written. After reading this book you're all going to wish for your own Raffe to accompany you on a journey. The love story between the two was clouded by the utter desperation of finding Penryn's sister, but was still raw and full of life. Readers can definitely tell the growing love between the two, even if they both continuously deny it themselves. As the story progresses readers can see the desperation to find Paige as Penryn tears herself apart over the loss of her sister. Throughout the novel, Penryn battles with herself as reality tells her her sister is already dead, but no matter what scary things are thrown at her she refuses to give up. I wish Penryn was my big sister and would come look for me in scary world Susan Ee created. All in all, this book was just absolutely amazing and written wonderfully.

But sadly, not all good things last. Of course the book ended on a cliff hanger leaving me in shock and anger. I may have almost cried. This epic read was one that I will never forget and I recommend this to anybody looking for a fast-paced, romantic, dystopian read that will leave an impression on them. Believe me, I've read A LOT of books and this one will stick with me for a long time.

Would I Read Again? Hell yes
Would I Recommend it? Absolutely
